Marketing a brand in an effort to increase its popularity among the consumer is a tricky business.

A good brand name should do these things
There are a few basic guidelines to follow when thinking of a brand name. First of all, the name it’s self. Is it be a name that can be copy written, and trademarked? Is it easy to remember and easy to pronounce? It should stand out somewhat, and project a positive image. It should suggest the products quality, or convenience. It should also be original.

When a company has too many brand names in too many markets, they begin to make less and less money, and their attention is divided between a number of different markets and fields

Problems associated with setting objectives for a brand
Management issues often come into play when it comes to any type of marketing or advertising plan. Very often, plans amount to short term goals and objectives that while profitable in the long run, will be eventually out paced by competitors using management techniques that are designed for the long-term goals.
